Summary of Board Requirement:
The Missouri Department of Elementary & Secondary Education requires current certification in First Aid and both Infant and Child (Pediatric) CPR for child care providers.
Board Statement:
First Aid/CPR training must be conducted fully in person or as a blended training that includes on-line learning with an in person skills assessment. Any trainer who has the proper credentialing to provide First Aid/CPR training from one of the listed models may conduct training that satisfies the CPR/First Aid requirement. The provider must receive certification from the approved model.
Summary of Board Requirement:
The Child Development Associate® National Credentialing Program of the Council of Professional Recognition requires child development associates to have current certification in First Aid and both Infant and Child (Pediatric) CPR.
Board Statement:
The Council accepts training offered by nationally recognized training organizations (such as the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association) as well as other training agencies.
The Council accepts Blended (online + virtual hands on assessment) Courses for Preschool, Infant-Toddler and Family Child Care Settings.
