Bloodborne Pathogens (BBPs) can be transmitted if infected blood or OPIM enter your body through the following routes of transmission:

Parenteral exposure – a break in the skin (skin penetrating injury), such as: stick with a needle or other sharp object, illegal drug use, cut from broken glass, human bites, and abrasions
Through a mucous membrane in the eye, nose, or mouth
Sexual contact
